Upcoming Workshops

There are still a couple of workshops this year. You will learn with others in a fun and engaging environment. The HDR and Light Painting workshops will cover both the photography and the post-processing.

Our workshops are designed to be fun, informative and useful.  You will learn in a fun environment where the focus is on ensuring that you depart with useful skills that you can put to work right away. We offer workshops on photography and post-processing.  The photography workshops cover more advanced topics and skills like Light Painting and HDR.  You will learn about the techniques and then put that learning immediately to use.  The post-processing workshops will enable you to use the most useful aspects of the software to “develop” your photos to a point where you achieve the look that you desire.

You can find out more about these Workshops and register at www.hardimanimages.com/workshops/

Upcoming Workshops

15 August 2015
High Dynamic Range Photography

The human eye is incredibly adaptable to light; however, today’s digital SLRs are not.  Your camera cannot capture in one frame, what you see with your eyes.  To overcome this, High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography allows us to reproduce the full dynamic range of the scene and later use software to combine the images and reveal the scene as you saw it.  HDR has a somewhat negative reputation due to the “over-processing” some photographers apply to their images. This is completely unnecessary as you can make your images look totally natural using HDR.  Sign up here.

22 August 2015
Light Painting

Light Painting refers to several types of photographic techniques.  One such technique, involves making patterns with a light source, usually single or multiple  LED lights and another involves lighting a scene with lamps of some sort.  This Workshop covers the latter. You will learn how to make interesting and engaging photographs where you have complete control of the light.  You decide the intensity, angle and of course what gets lit and what does not get lit.  Often the most interesting photos involve scenes where different  parts of the frame receive different amounts of light.  Sign up here.

19 September 2015
Lightroom®

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom® Workshop This workshop covers the basics of Photoshop® Lightroom® from start to finish.  You will learn the essential elements of using Lightroom from capture of the image to printing.  This workshop will teach you how to plan a workflow and improve your productivity.  With this workshop you will improve your knowledge of Lightroom® and free yourself up to spend more time behind the lens instead of behind the computer.   Includes Lightroom CC updates.  Sign up here.

26 September 2015
Photoshop®

This Workshop is designed to get you up and running with a solid understanding of the most used features in Photoshop®.  It has been described as a 800 lb gorilla and can seem somewhat intimidating when you first launch the software.  Often this is when people give up.  Most users only access a small percentage (less than 5%) of the application.  This Workshop will get you up and running and make Photoshop® a powerful tool in your post-processing toolbox.  Sign up here.

Not Scheduled – If there is interest I will schedule one
Advanced Photoshop®

This Workshop is designed to carry on from the concepts taught in the Photoshop® workshop and take your skills and knowledge to the next level.  You will learn in-depth procedures for making selections and masks and then you will learn how to utilize them in practical exercises.   Creating composite images will be covered as will combining registered images.   This workshop will also cover reproducible techniques to use in your portrait photography.  If you would like me to schedule an advanced Photoshop ® Workshop, fill out this form and select “When is the Next One” and if there is enough interest, I will schedule a second one this year.
