Halifax Public Gardens – Dahlia Day

On August 27th, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, the Halifax Public Gardens is celebrating its 4th Annual “Dahlia Day”.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about dahlias and to enjoy this beautiful National Historic Site. The rain date for this event is August 28th and admission is Free.

Some of the highlights for this event include:

Arranging With Dahlias
Neville McKay of My Mother’s Bloomers will be demonstrating how to use dahlias in floral arrangements using dahlia blossoms from the Gardens’ beds.  Each of these arrangements will be donated to the Friends of the Public Gardens for immediate raffle at the end of the demonstration.
1:00 – 2:00 pm
Bandstand Bench Area

Dahlia Experts
Will be on hand in the dahlia beds to answer your questions.
10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Dahlia Information Display
All day at Horticultural Hall.

Prizes
There are also prizes of miniature and small potted dahlias.

The main gate to the Halifax Public Gardens is located on the corner of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
