While Jim and I were in Florida last Winter, we attended a wonderful presentation by Susan Francis who is a professional photographer in Orlando, Florida. Susan and her husband John own and operate Harmon’s School of Photography.
During the meeting, Susan showed everyone how to use a scanner to create interesting and beautiful photographs. Susan is an amazing photographer/artist and her work has inspired me to try my hand at scannography (also called scanography, Scanner Photography or Scan-art).
Jim and I have a multi-purpose scanner/printer so when I tried to scan something for the first time it did not look as good as I expected. The depth of field was too shallow. After doing some research, we came to learn we needed to buy a dedicated scanner that had a sensor that was a Charge-Coupled Device (CCD). So, we bought ourselves the Epson Perfection V550 scanner and we are very happy with the results.

Dear Hardiman,
Please, what did you choose Epson v550 over de v600? with one are the best for scanography?
best regards
Igor, thank you for the question. WE bought the V550 based on reviews and the recommendations of several friends that do Scanography. It works great. I have not used the V600 but expect that the performance based on the specs will be comparable to the V550. They both have the same resolution and CCD technology. I would expect that you would get the same performance when scanning.
